To him it’s all grey.
To Jack (the main character and good guy) there is right and wrong.
There IS Black and white.
There’s no grey there.

In May of 1989 - the Galaxy IV communications satellite had a control processor fail. This caused it to rotate so it was facing away from earth.
The instant that happened 40 million pagers in the US stopped working. NPR and CBS had to find alternate means to broadcast their signal.
The outage lasted for days.
A satellite either works. Or it doesn't.
